\nThe international research team\u00a0\u00a0using the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment (CHIME) radio telescope, in Penticton, B.C., reports a repeating fast radio burst, only the second to be recorded, and one of 13 newly detected bursts. At least seven of these bursts were recorded at 400 megahertz \u2013 the lowest frequency recorded so far. Fast radio bursts are millisecond-duration, extragalactic radio flashes of unknown physical origin. Only one repeating fast radio burst had been observed previously, and the lowest radio frequency recorded previously was 700 megahertz.<\/p>\n
