Seven years after the experiment, the researchers found that 9.8 per cent of the omega-3 group (four out 41) developed psychosis, during a 12 month monitoring period, compared to 40 per cent (16 out of 40) in the placebo group. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally the placebo group showed a higher overall incidence of other psychiatric disorders. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A possible limitation of this study is the sample size, which is not sufficiently large to allow further analysis of subgroups.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nature.com\/ncomms\/2015\/150811\/ncomms8934\/full\/ncomms8934.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Original research paper<\/span><\/a>\u00a0published in\u00a0<em>Nature Communications<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em>on\u00a0<strong>August 11<\/strong><span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_453723367\"><span class=\"aQJ\"><strong>, 2015<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Names and affiliations of selected\u00a0author<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h4>G.
