Courtesy of Royal Tyrrell Museum, Drumheller, Alberta.)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Bones found 10 years ago along the Oldman River in Alberta belonged to a new species of horned dinosaur.\u00a0This is the first time an horned dinosaurs species has been discovered in Alberta.<\/p>\n<p>According to a new study, this dinosaur is similar in many respects to Triceratops, except that its nose horn is taller and the two horns over its eye are smaller.\u00a0Researchers named the dinosaur <em>Regaliceratops peterhewsi<\/em> in honour of its distinctive frill and of the discoverer of the fossil, Peter Hews.<\/p>\n<p>Lead author Caleb Brown also proposed to his girlfriend in the acknowledgement section of the paper, and she did say yes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cell.com\/current-biology\/abstract\/S0960-9822(15)00492-3\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Original research paper<\/span><\/a>\u00a0published in <em>Current Biology\u00a0<\/em>on\u00a0<strong>June 4<\/strong><span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_453723367\"><span class=\"aQJ\"><strong>, 2015<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Names and affiliations of selected\u00a0authors<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Caleb Brown, Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, Alberta<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bones found 10 years ago along the Oldman River in Alberta belonged to a new species of horned dinosaur.\u00a0This is the first time an horned dinosaurs species has been discovered in Alberta.
