Schrader<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\">, Canada Research Chair in Immunology, Biomedical Research Centre, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, 604-822-7822, <\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\" href=\"mailto:john@brc.ubc.ca\">john@brc.ubc.ca<\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Schrader researches human monoclonal antibodies against hemagglutinin (the \u201cH\u201d in H5N1.) He is working on a universal influenza vaccine that protects against all seasonal influenza and any pandemic influenza strain that comes from animals, including avian H5N1 and H7N9.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.medvet.umontreal.ca\/departements\/sciences_cliniques\/professeurs\/vaillancourt_jp.htm\">Jean-Pierre Vaillancourt<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\">, Epidemiologist, poultry industry specialist and professor of veterinary medicine at Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al, 514-345-8521 poste\/ext: 8678, <\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\" href=\"mailto:jean-pierre.vaillancourt@umontreal.ca\">jean-pierre.vaillancourt@umontreal.ca<\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">For the last 25 years, Vaillancourt has studied bird flu in Canada, the US and Mexico.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\" href=\"http:\/\/phymbie.physics.ryerson.ca\/~cbeau\/\">Catherine Beauchemin<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\">, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, Ryerson University, 416-979-5000 x2508, <\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\" href=\"mailto:cbeau@ryerson.ca\">cbeau@ryerson.ca<\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Beauchemin is a physicist who builds computer models that simulate how viruses like the 2009 pandemic strain move through the cells of the human body. Her models can test what would happen if a virus gained a particular mutation, for example, one that increases its resistance to antibiotics. However, she has not worked with avian flu (H5N1 or H7N9)<\/p>\n<p><strong><a style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cri.ulaval.ca\/?gboivin_fra\">Guy Boivin<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\">, Canada Research Chair in Emerging Viruses and Antivirus Resistance, Faculty of Medicine, Laval University,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\">(418) 654-2705, <a href=\"mailto:Guy.Boivin@crchul.ulaval.ca\">Guy.Boivin@crchul.ulaval.ca<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\">Boivin\u2019s research program focuses on the diagnosis, pathogenesis and treatment of viral infections.
