Parents purchase human breast milk from the Internet to help supplement their supply, and in some cases the parents are purchasing milk for infants with sensitivities to cows milk or formula.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers tested 102 samples advertised as human breast milk which had been purchased anonymously. They found that 11 samples contained cow DNA and that 10 of these samples were at least 10 per cent cows\u2019 milk.<\/p>\n<p>Previous research in 2013 showed that human milk purchased online grew dangerous bacteria (such as E. coli) leaving the milk unsafe for infant consumption.<\/p>\n<p>A copy of the original research paper\u00a0published in <em>Pediatrics\u00a0<\/em>on\u00a0<strong>April\u00a06<\/strong><span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_453723367\"><span class=\"aQJ\"><strong>, 2015<\/strong>, is available upon request.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Names and affiliations of selected\u00a0authors<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Sarah A.
