Cyanobacteria pose a threat to drinking water sources worldwide because they can release toxins.<\/p>\n<p>Looking at lakes in Canada, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and Malaysia, this international study shows that the effect of nutrients found in fertilizers, such as phosphorus and nitrogen, overwhelm those of global warming since 1800.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1111\/ele.12420\/abstract;jsessionid=9C41B3C4FC139DCEFBA59FD4333B08B7.f01t04\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Original research paper<\/span><\/a>\u00a0published in <em>Ecology Letters\u00a0<\/em>on\u00a0<strong>February 26<\/strong><span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_453723367\"><span class=\"aQJ\"><strong>, 2015<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><strong>Names and affiliations of selected\u00a0authors<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Zofia E.
