(Credit: York University)<\/p><\/div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">For the first time, astronomers have used a ground-based telescope to observe a \u2018super-Earth\u2019 &#8211; an exoplanet twice as big as the Earth &#8211; pass in front of a nearby Sun-like star.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Currently, most Earth-like exoplanets are discovered by space-based telescopes like NASA\u2019s Kepler.
