Une nouvelle \u00e9tude montre que ces \u00e9cureuils ont aussi d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 des m\u00e9canismes afin de contrer les effets n\u00e9gatifs des st\u00e9ro\u00efdes.<\/p>\n<p>Les animaux en hibernation br\u00fblent du gras afin de survivre au froid de l\u2019hiver. Toutefois, le spermophile de Richardson doit aussi br\u00fbler du muscle \u00e0 cause des temp\u00e9ratures glaciales de l\u2019Arctique. Une <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/store\/10.1111\/j.1365-2435.2011.01890.x\/asset\/j.1365-2435.2011.01890.x.pdf;jsessionid=1AD51B875FBBE560D16957584FF5D733.f02t04?v=1&amp;t=i1xjrizt&amp;s=3971078befb98f7cf1a45344384d480683592663\">\u00e9tude pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente<\/a><\/span> montrait que ces \u00e9cureuils ont une concentration \u00e9lev\u00e9e de testost\u00e9rone et de st\u00e9ro\u00efdes anabolisants dans leur sang \u00e0 la fin de l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 sans montrer d\u2019effets n\u00e9gatifs (agressivit\u00e9, faiblesse du syst\u00e8me immunitaire).<\/p>\n<p>Les chercheurs comprennent maintenant comment: ces \u00e9cureuils ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 des r\u00e9cepteurs aux st\u00e9ro\u00efdes dans leurs cellules musculaires, mais pas dans les autres types de cellules.
