And just how big a problem will that be in tomorrow\u2019s job market?<\/p>\n<p>The report &#8220;Spotlight on Science Learning&#8221;, commissioned by Amgen Canada and Let\u2019s Talk Science, tackles why Canadian students opt out of science, engineering, technology and math (STEM) subjects. It also looks at why education in these topics is more important than ever for tomorrow\u2019s job market &#8211; even jobs that aren\u2019t in labs or academia. The report was designed to set measurable goals in order to track progress on STEM learning in Canada. The report was published on Tuesday, June 5, 2012.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The SMCC hosted a webinar launching the report at 11:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, with several of the report&#8217;s co-authors.
