(Photo credit: Eliot Bolduc)<\/p><\/div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Physicists have explained the results of <\/span>a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pnas.org\/content\/109\/24\/9314.full\" target=\"_blank\">2012 experiment<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> in which photons appeared to be simultaneously acting as a wave and a particle, something that should no<\/span>t happen according to quantum physics.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The authors of the new paper show that photons can behave differently depending on what part of the ring they came from.
