Il explose en plein centre-ville \u00e0 Lac-M\u00e9gantic et cause\u00a0la mort de 47 personnes. Cet accident a \u00e9t\u00e9\u00a0l\u2019un des plus mortels de l\u2019histoire ferroviaire canadienne en plus de causer l\u2019un des pires d\u00e9versements de p\u00e9trole terrestre au Canada. \u00c0 la suite de ce d\u00e9raillement, d\u2019autres incidents sont survenus \u00e0 Plaster Rock au Nouveau-Brunswick et \u00e0 Casselton au Dakota du Nord. Ceux-ci ont mis en lumi\u00e8re les enjeux de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 qui entourent le transport ferroviaire du p\u00e9trole.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Un an apr\u00e8s la catastrophe, le Centre canadien science et m\u00e9dias a r\u00e9unit\u00a0un panel d\u2019experts pour faire \u00e9tat des le\u00e7ons apprises de l\u2019accident \u00e0 Lac-M\u00e9gantic. M. Lacoursi\u00e8re poss\u00e8de 46 ans d\u2019exp\u00e9rience dans les industries des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s et gestion des risques. Il discutera\u00a0de l\u2019inflammabilit\u00e9 du p\u00e9trole brut et des m\u00e9canismes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des wagons-citernes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"color: #222222;\"><a style=\"color: #1155cc;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gci.ulaval.ca\/enregistrements\/professeurs\/rosa-galvez\/rosa-galvez-cloutier\/curriculum-vitae\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Rosa Galvez-Cloutier<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">,<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0professeure de g\u00e9nie civil \u00e0 l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 Laval. Mme Galvez-Cloutier est une experte des impacts environnementaux lors de d\u00e9versements de\u00a0mati\u00e8res dangereuses. Elle a publi\u00e9 des articles scientifiques sur la catastrophe de Lac-M\u00e9gantic. Elle parlera de sa recherche sur les effets environnementaux de la catastrophe\u00a0de Lac-M\u00e9gantic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #000000;\">Bill Hjelholt<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, directeur du transport ferroviaire pour les Am\u00e9riques chez AECOM. M. Hjelholt poss\u00e8de plus\u00a0de 15 ann\u00e9es d&#8217;exp\u00e9rience dans l&#8217;industrie du transport ferroviaire de marchandises, y compris la conception des installations ferroviaires, le routage de voies ferr\u00e9es, les syst\u00e8mes de contr\u00f4le et des \u00e9valuations environnementales.
