(Photo credit: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/gchallenges\/14147116095\/\">Grand Challenges Canada, via Flickr<\/a>)<\/p><\/div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"color: #222222;\">Grand Challenges Canada, funded by the Government of Canada, has\u00a0announced $12 million for projects worldwide aimed at improving the health and saving the lives of mothers, newborns and children in developing countries.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"color: #222222;\">Four projects with a proven track record will receive \u201ctransition to scale\u201d investments: an example is the \u201cLucky Iron Fish\u201d developed by a researcher at the University of Guelph.
