Two-thirds of Canadian children are physically illiterate. Physical literacy includes fitness and motor skill, as well as the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge and understanding to value and take responsibility for engaging in physical activities for life. Fourteen studies looked at different aspects of physical literacy in more than 10,000 children, aged 8 to 12, from 11 cities across the country.
