The Science Media Centre sends out roundups of Canadian research every Tuesday morning (every second Tuesday in the summer). The emails contain links to embargoed materials – journal articles, press previews, news releases – on journal press sites, where access to such materials is restricted.

If you click on links that are still under embargo, the links will appear broken or invalid. They are not. They are unavailable until the days and times specified in our emails.

That is why we explicitly say: “The URL will go live when the embargo ends.”

Until the embargoes are lifted, only journalists registered with the journal where the paper in question appears or with journal’s publishers can access the material.

You must register with each one separately and prove you are a working journalist.

If you are not registered and need access before the embargo is lifted, let us know. We can usually get you the information.

If you have any questions or ever need help accessing a paper, please email us. We’re here to help. <info@sciencemedia.ca>
